Well, everybody, it's a good thing that when I 'got the IT work' I rolled a saving throw and made sure that I still had something other than contract work that I am set up with. I snagged another kitchen job at about the same time that I heard that I was getting that contract. Lo and behold, the IT contract is signed but has failed to produce any work just yet. So today I am going off to my first day in the trenches at the airport for a new cafe' that is opening there.
Being the avid believer in vibration and resonance that I am, and being a little bit anxious about my first day, I'd be very much obliged to anybody that would find it in their free time to take a minute and try to send some good vibes my way.

Just wanted to take a quick minute to thank all of you guys for the well wishes. Day 2 of work is on Monday; looks like it's going to be a fun crew. :) I'll know more about how well we'll work together after Tuesday; this is a fresh opening, so instead of throwing people into the cauldron for trial by fire there's actually a 'classroom'ish session going on, too.
