• Sending netmail between DOVE-Net nodes?

From Sampsa@VERT/B4BBS to All on Wednesday, February 04, 2015 23:21:34
I remember that it's possible to send private messages between DOVE-net nodes but have forgotten the addressing syntax?

    Digital Man, any ideas?

The easiest way is to just hit 'M' (to mail-reply) to a posted message. Try it.
Otherwise, the syntax is <name>@<qwk-id> (used for QWK netmail).

There's a page in the wiki on it: http://wiki.synchro.net/ref:qwknet

Oh yeah, and there's that funky UUCP style path thing with the HUB/NODE
    etc...

You don't need to use the HUB/NODE syntax so long as your routing tables are currently (and they likely are). <name>@<node> should work fine.

Actually what would be amusing would be to somehow set up B4BBS as a gateway between DOVE-Net and UUHECNET (a retro UUCP network we run, for fun mostly)
    and get addresses like "VERT/B4BBS!b4gate!pyffle!system".

I don't think I have the energy to write a UUCP <-> QWK gateway that maybe
one / two people will use though..

Erm, I was thinking more of routing mail, not echos so I don't think dupes would be an issue..

Besides, I'm not going to write a UUCP <-> QWK gateway, I'm not that nuts.
