• Old duplicate messages

From Nightfox@VERT/DIGDIST to All on Sunday, December 07, 2014 08:56:54
I just noticed on my BBS that a group of old messages seem to have been posted on Dove-Net in various boards. For instance, in Dove-Net General, there's one message dated December 7 from physalis17 to Poindexter Fortran with the subject "Re: CLI vs GUI", and then the next message I see on my BBS is dated November 9 (from me to Khelair with the subject "PacNW Passive-Aggressiveness").

This has happened in several boards on Dove-net. It looks like multiple boards were updated on my BBS this morning at the same time (5:35AM PST) - At least several of the boards updated at that time have a group of older messages at the end.

yep, someone needs to disconnect from msg nets if they are playing around and not sure if their system is working correctly.

Several of the Mystic nodes on DOVE-Net have been spewing dupes back into the network. These appear to be in large corrupted REP packets as well, so they're not being caught by normal duplicate message checking schemes.

The recent dupe-spewing nodes are ISIS, RDFIG, and FLUPH.

I'm removing posting privileges from these nodes when I see the dupes and will not restore them until the sysops can assure me that they've root-caused and resolved the issue.

I actually got fooled into thinking my view of the CVS wasn't updating because I saw posts on the Synchronet Programming sub-board for CVS but couldn't find those updates on the web page. Messed with my head a bit.
