• SBBS on Raspberry Pi

Works pretty well! Pretty cool having SBBS running alongside XBMC on such a small device. Now that I have it running, time to start customizing a bit. Using PabloDraw to create ANSI screens. It runs on OSX. I don't even own any Windows machines anymore, just a Macbook Pro and a Mac Mini. Just for S/G's, I'd like to have SBBS display what I am currently watching on XBMC. No reason other than just to do it. Love the Raspberry Pi. So cool that I'm getting another RPi setup.

    Cheers,
    Misfit

that's awesome! I was actually thinking about the same thing with my Pi, but haven't had a chance to mess around with it. Did you have any unexpected hurdles or did the install go like any other linux install?

With Pi (and many other embedded platforms) you install to the memory card an image already, and then insert the memory card into the Pi. You don't install Linux via a CDROM or net image, typically. I believe it's possible, but it would take so long that you would scream and throw the Pi through a window and destroy it. The official recommended way to install is via image on memory card
    via a regular PC.

Also... I picked up an ODROID U3 lately. Completely blows my Raspberry Pi and BeagleBone black out of the sky, and it's only about 25 bucks more.

This is the first I've heard of it. I saw the video at hardkernel.com. It's seems like a sweet device. Might have to get one for myself.

You should. I'm shocked at how small it is. I think it's even smaller than the BeagleBone Black!

Wpw, that is nice. Somewhat followed the alternatives to the Raspberry Pi, but this is the first time I heard of this animal. Forgeting about getting another Raspberry Pi, I'm sold on this device. lol

Yeah it's a real beauty. I want to get a few more of these and find a nice enclosure.

I found a few of them. How cool is THAT!

I think I could update that to use my ODROID U3's instead of Pi. In fact, I'm certain people would find that to be interesting, since the U3's are quadcore 1.7 arm but significantly smaller than rasppi.

wonder how they'd work as a cluster ;)
