Hello all. I have found a terminal program that work almost 100%. Ireal displays Ansi screens correctly! It's on the Goole Play store for $1.00 The only draw back is that Syncronet dose not Auto Detect is as an Ansi type terminal so you have to for that in your user setting by turning o the Auto detect and putting it to Ansi.

It's called ANSI Terminal Mobile and it's only been there since july of 2014.

I took a chance on the 1 dollar and am glad I did.

Thanks for the write-up, Jon! I had this app bookmarked (Wishlist) on
the Play store, but was hesitant to try it with no free version to give
it a go with first. Having read your comments about it though, I think it's probably worth the $1.00.

I gave it a go. It is quite nice, but it still lacks some major features.

I tried it on two different devices, a Kindle Fire running CyanogenMod 10 and
a Moto X. The Kindle one would not allow me to backspace in the connection setup fields. I had to install a different keyboard to get it to work.

Once connected, the app has it's own keyboard, so the devices' keyboard is
not used. What this app keyboard does not have, as far as I can tell, is an arrow (up, dn, lt, rt) keys, and no escape key. I have many situations where
I might use my arrow keys on my board, and also the escape key. Since these keys weren't available, I could not exit or use some of these features.

Also, I can't say that it truely displays ansi's correctly. I have a full screen message reader on my BBS, and the app did not display the text in the message. It would display the ansi file that is used to frame the messages, but not the message text itself.

I paid for it, and informed the author in the comments, so I'm hoping it will be addressed in later releases.

try emailing the author about it. you can also track him down via his web. he runs a private wow server amongst other things.

that thing you described sounds like it's not handling positioning codes correctly.

I have to agree with the key board findings. When I wrote this I had only been using it for a few hours. But over all I am pleased with it. Let's hope the developer continues to work on it. I also sent him some feedback.

Thanks for the detail Gryphon, that certainly helps know a bit better what the tool is like. There is hardly anything at all that seems to do a good ANSI interpretation on Android. Even with the issues you mentioned, it sounds like this app probably tops the list of useful ANSI apps.

can you post some screenshots? also does it handle ansimation? cursor positioning? and does it handle all of cp437?

I do notice that when it wipes the screen and another gets displayed, that it does a sort of "fade". It will do a "snow fade" between menus. By "snow fade", I mean that random chars of the new menu will populate the screen. It doesn't necessarily work from the top-down like typical ANSI.SYS displays
    would work.
