• Found a Ansi ANSI Terminal that real works for an Android device

From Selic@VERT/FLASHPT to All on Sunday, October 12, 2014 10:06:43
Hello all. I have found a terminal program that work almost 100%. Irealy displays Ansi screens correctly! It's on the Goole Play store for $1.00. The only draw back is that Syncronet dose not Auto Detect is as an Ansi type terminal so you have to for that in your user setting by turning off the Auto detect and putting it to Ansi.

It's called ANSI Terminal Mobile and it's only been there since july of 2014.

I took a chance on the 1 dollar and am glad I did.

    Jon

i've been using my.ftelnet.ca and it's been working great.

please report your issues to the app developer. it's good that there's more telnet apps out there. i just wish he had a try before you buy model.

there's so many that have codepage or ansi emulation issues.
best one i ever found was a tawaineese app.

Second of all, thanks for sharing. All the other android options basically "suck eggs", if you get my drift.

Thanks for the write-up, Jon! I had this app bookmarked (Wishlist) on the Play store, but was hesitant to try it with no free version to give it a go with first. Having read your comments about it though, I think it's probably worth the $1.00.

yeah, they do. bbsnexus is decent but it scales kinda small.
can someone make a screenshots of this terminal app and let us know what
    its shortcomings are?

i know rick parrish made an ftelnet android app but not sure if he will continue to persue it.

That was actually HtmlTerm with phonegap, which didn't work so well (and would have required connecting through a proxy, which not all BBSes run).

I actually ordered an android device last night though, so assuming it doesn't suck (it was a super cheap one) I'll probably use it to get fTelnet up and running in the near future.
