Ok , being a person who likes good traditions to continue, i want other peoples opinions on the scrapping of the car tax discs from the 1st of Oct, 2014. I plan on putting the first tax disc i ever bought for this car from 2008, it its place, what will others do?

I'm sorry to see them go too, even if they are a pain in the arse. I was just digging around in my desk drawer to find the oldest one I had - disappointly only 2005. I've notice there's only three different colour cycles now - should be easy enough to scan and photoshop to make a 2016, 2017, 2018 disc for nostalgia :-)
