I don't suppose anybody might know if it's illegal for a person unrelated to any illegal activities under investigation to start shouting the name of a confidential and paid informant that leaked a whole shit-ton of information to the four winds and seven seas? Seems I've landed in yet another dubious situation due to my adventures in homelessness... I'd like to see at least one of these scumballs deal with the shit that they've caused and the lives they've ruined, instead of just taking the brunt of everything that might be suffering the choppy seas right now myself.
The dude in question is a paid informant for the local police force in this ho-dunk town. Aforementioned dissemnination of information would happen quite anonymously, except, of course, for the fact that I'm asking about this information in a place that is certain to be indexed by the web. It's for a friend, of course. :)

If he's an informat for the FBI they'll charge you with hindering an investigation. Not sure on other levels, but would imagine the same thing.

I don't know. It might result in the local police / friends of the informating retaliating against you... illegally of course.
