With all the retro networks out there now, which 2 or 3 are your favorites?
It seems that they're growing in popularity ever since TVLand came out in the 90s. I dont know if this says much about the shows being made today, most of which are now reboots from decades past, OR if the younger generation is spending more time watching amateurs on things like YouTube instead but as
an old fert I do prefer some of the older shows.

My favorite shows on MeTV are Perry Mason and Twilight Zone! I could always binge watch Twilight Zone on Hulu but there's something about watching it on broadcast that adds that little something to ie.

We have MeTV, AntennaTV, H&I & Laff that we watch the most. Older shows and cartoons though at times there are somewhat newer shows mixed in.

Yes. I actually have the original run of TZ on DVD but prefer to DVR and
watch them as they air.

IIRC, it was the original retro digital subchannel that came out before
most all of the others. It was actually on some stations before digital... there were a couple of low-power independent stations nearby that became affiliates back 20+ years ago. The local cable company carried one from a nearby town. When that station went off the air, about the time of the
digital conversion, that was the last time I saw RTN anywhere local.

I can remember when one of the low-power stations in Louisville carried
some music video network for a while (you could call a number and pay to
make a request). I discovered that the summer that Tom Petty's "Mary
Jane's Last Dance" was popular. :) Then, IIRC, they carried MTV-2 briefly before changing to one of the home shopping networks and then disappearing during the digital conversion.

Great cast! Betty White rules anyway... but Valerie with guest appearances
from Jennifer Love Hewitt *drool* is what I call "must see tv" <G>

That would have been sort of cool - a localized MTV of sorts. As a former broadcast DJ, I've always wondered how well that would work. Now local radio lacks request ability with it all computerized... except for most morning
shows because a computer can't do traffic reports or give the current temperature.

Now you have LPFMs (Low Power FM radio). Here they're almost all spanish and they splash all over. Our two lower power TV stations were Public Television and a Christian station that eventually went 24/7 with Dr. Gene Scott (?) Wasn't much to watch there Lol

audience for most programming blocks is girls in their "tweens" and young teens. IIRC, the ages were 12-15. Considering that a lot of that
particular programming is about young teens getting pregnant, I do not
think that is a good thing. At all.

Of course, they blamed a lot of poor behavior on B&B, too. IMHO, they are still classics. I did not mind it originally when MTV started showing
things other than music because most of it was music-related and
entertaining, and at least showed some sort of artistic talent. Even B&B showed videos during their shows. They lost me once they moved to alleged "reality" television where people intentionally act as stupid as they can.

I'm with you there! You're not going to take off the young girlie shows

Ah...Twilight Zone. We talking about the old black a white originals,
right? I used to watch those as a teen. Time to revisit that show!

Of course! :) MeTV does sometimes show some of the 1980's color episodes,
but it is usually the original series. SyFy tends to stick to the original
run also. I am not sure about which ones Decades shows.

It may be a subchannel available to folks who live in one of the nearby
towns, if they have an antenna, but it is not carried on the local cable company. MeTV, Antenna TV, TBD, Circle, and Grit (I think) are the 5 subchannel networks we currently get here. Well, and Ion, which I think
has slipped to subchannel status now. We used to get MyNetwork, but I
didn't see it when I looked.

I did look for Decades over the weekend to see if I could catch some TZ
action. :)

There's always streaming on the web. Most channels also have mobile device apps for streaming too.

There's a local TV channel in my area that did streaming on their web site, which I'd sometimes watch when they did news. But they've since discontinued their web streaming and only support mobile/TV apps for that now. I'm not sure why they did that.. I'm often at my PC and would like to be able to stream their news on my PC.

Sounds like a little user-agent spoofing would go a long way, to make their web server think you're hitting them with their app.

I hate when they do that. The only thing I do on my web server is sense if
the remote client is a mobile device and send them the mobile web page instead of the desktop page... but I don't block them out.
