I quit playing sometime after WoTL. I tried to get back into it a year or so ago, and just couldn't. I had no idea what was going on, or what I was doing.

The only MMO I was able to stick with long term was Eve Online, where I lasted about 10 years. I finally uninstalled it a couple years back.

A long time ago (around 2000, I think), I bought the Battle.net version of Warcraft 2. I started playing some multiplayer games with it on battle.net and right away I could tell people were cheating.. Within a minute of starting the game, I'd get ogre-rushed and killed.

well their warden program is pretty advanced so that wouldnt happen today or

I know right, I got burnt out on it. Seems like the same things over and over with just different graphics. Nothing really new and interesting anymore. I might play it again, just not in the immediate future.

Unfortunately, that takes a lot of fun out of a lot of games. If everyone on the same playing field, things would be a lot different.

I never actually played World of Warcraft.. So I'm not sure how similar or different it might be to classic Warcraft, but the last Warcraft I actually played a lot of was Warcraft 2. I enjoyed the real-time strategy multiplayer type of game. From what I've heard, I think World of Warcraft is more about charcater development?

Character development is one aspect of the game. Like gearing up your character to fight tougher bosses and stuff, collecting ridable mounts, crafting using materials and such. The Beta is still going on, but as far as
a paid subscription, I doubt I'll play-to-play when I have other things that I enjoy just as much or even more.
