It was a lot of fun. Lots of artists there, some interesting cosplay, and I went to the Axanar panel - the producer/star of "Prelude to Axanar" was there talking about the movie, the actors and the lawsuit.

Awesome! My first non-work convention type thingy was Gencon 2014.
Had a BLAST!

Jackson, TN had a 'southern pop culture' con (it was a Comic Con,
but more local and more than just comics & super heroes). I enjoyed
it so much that two weeks later I went to one in Memphis. Got to
meet Vernon Wells - that was cool! :-)

I love the cosplay! I started buying nerf & water guns at the goodwill
with the intention of making up some cosplay guns and such. :-)

I wish I could be there to go. I've been to many a Con in my day tho. I've been to BayCon, SiliCon, and TimeCon. They were usually held at the Red Lion Inn. Is that still around? I remember getting Tom Baker's autograph at TimeCon '80. I still have the program for BayCon '85.

Back in '85ish, San Jose had a film festival and it was held at the Camera theaters. (Camera One, Camera Three..). I got Ray Harryhausen's autograph on the program. I also saw Patrick Stewart speak at one of the conventions
aroun '90.
