They have a new album due in March which has 11 cover songs from acts that they felt deep admiration for. Heaven 17, Seasame Street, Human League etc.
Information Society has been around for over 25 years and they are still making music. I got into them and the music seems timeless and even contempoary for even today.

You might be impressed if you like electronica.

I met the lead guy at a game dev club (random group of about 10 guys that met at a bar to catch up with one another's dev houses), I had no idea who he was at the time, but he was doing the audio stuff for Tomb Raider over at Crystal Dynamics.

I might have to check them out again. The only song I really remember from them is "What's On Your Mind", released in 1988 I believe. I
didn't realize they were still making music; I figured they were a
one-hit wonder.

I've discovered over the years, that bands I thought were dead, are still alive and kicking. I was shocked to learn that Boy George was still pumping out music. Did you know that AC/DC, The Rolling Stones and The Cure are all still putting out music? We even had A Flock of Seagulls play at my kid's high school 2 years ago. I'm taking my wife to see The Cure when the come to town in May.

I'm glad to hear about a new album and will definitely look for it!

Though I never met him in person, I'm pretty sure it was Kurt Harland that essentially *was* Information Society all by himself in the mid-90s, and he conducted weekly IRC chats with the fans. I participated in those when he was doing them. That was unusual, I think, for musicians to do that sort of thing then. Actually, it is now too. But it was enjoyable.

This must have been after my time. I was director of IT at Eidos, right when
He was real short, like 5' 2". Nice guy though, came across as someone who hung out on IRC a lot back in the day.
