Speaking of the Rush R40 concert, I went to see them on the 21st in
Portland, OR. I liked the idea of going backward through their career with their music. I was somewhat surprised that they didn't play anything from Power Windows, Hold Your Fire, or Presto.. My favorite Rush music is
probably Moving Pictures through Counterparts, and for this concert, I feel like they played less of that period and more of their music from before & after that period. But it was still a good concert, and it was good to see Rush on what they say is probably their last major tour.

The audio at the venue where they played probably could have been better
too. Many times it seemed to be a bit distorted, and it was often
difficult to make out the lyrics Geddy was singing.

I had the same thought about the video/camera policy. The tickets say they don't allow cameras or video recorders, yet almost everyone has a
smartphone that acts as such a device. As you said, they probably
shouldn't care too much about that, since it shouldn't hurt sales of the DVD/blu-ray they're likely to make from the tour.

I might go back & watch some of my Rush concert videos again soon. I
somewhat regret not seeing them on their Time Machine tour - But I have
    that one on blu-ray.

Yes, my sentiments too (regarding last tour and all). They did vary the set from night to night a bit, but it never included songs from those albums. That said, I was happy with the set list and got to hear them play more from Hemispheres (side 1) than ever before as well as Lakeside Park and What You're Doing. We had a great time.

Every indvidual concert seems to me to have that magical song where it just sounds "right" and the audience is totally into it and singing along. This time, there were 2 such songs: Distant Early Warning and Roll The Bones.

The audio at the venue where they played probably could have been better too. Many times it seemed to be a bit distorted, and it was often
difficult to make out the lyrics Geddy was singing.

He's not enunciating as well as he once did either. It's hard to sing that high in your sixties!

Some of the stuff on YouTube is of surprinsgly good quality too. And a lot of it is crap.

That's true. I think his voice sounded better during this concert than in some of the recent videos I've seen of Rush though.

The Rock'n'Roll HoF performance of Tom Sawyer was pretty disappointing (vocally) and I understand he didn't get to warm up or go through any of the normal pre-show preparation. Singing (well) is hard. :-)

Yeah, it can definitely be difficult to get the tonal range you need to sing some songs.
