The Simpsons was always one of my favorite shows, but I haven't watched it regularly since the late 90s. After so long, I suppose my interest in it started to decline. However, I admire that it is still on the air after 26 years, particularly since the creator is from my home city (well technically, I live in a suburb).

I tend to remember scenes rather than full episodes:
    - Bart's prank calls to Moe's Tavern
    - There was an episode I saw in 1994 where Bart was exploring an abandoned warehouse, and he came across a bunch of megaphones hanging on a wall. He took one and tested it to see how loud it was. Then he put 2 back to back and tested it to see how loud his voice was with both of them. Then, it showed that Bart had strung a bunch of them back-to-back across the room and out the window. He went to the back of them all and yelled "Testing!" into the back. His "Testing!" was so loud coming out of the window that it caused a shockwave that broke a bunch of windows as it traveled and echoed through town.
    - Homer talking to his boss (Mr. Burns) on a Friday when he didn't show up for work:
Mr. Burns: "If you don't come in today, don't bother coming in on Monday." Homer: "Woo-hoo! Four-day weekend!"

Pretty much anything from the "golden era" is fantastic, though I'm particularly keen on the episode with Homer and his vigilante gang. It's quoted very regularly among my social circle.

just seems stupid that he's doing market research on bbses and he thinks what he is doing is perfectly normal and effective.

also it's about something old like the simpsons.

You're right. Telling someone that they're being "retarded" could in no way be taken as trying to instigate disagreement.

just seems stupid that he's doing market research on bbses and he thinks what he is doing is perfectly normal and effective.
Nobody said he was doing market research, just that he was doing research. If he's looking for opinions, asking in an area people converse and opine seems like a pretty reasonable thing to do.

I also saw a few posts a while back where you and some others were questioning why more people didn't get involved/stay involved with bbsing, and here you are actively discouraging participation... Do you even brain?

Who said anything about market research? I wasn't aware I was going to be selling anything, but there you go..

But yeah, i'm the stupid one. Why did I ever think asking questions about a TV show on an entertainment board with a decent amount of people where I can get direct responses would be a good idea? I must be MAD!
