Netflix ready means that your device is ready to play Netflix content after you have a paid subscription. I believe it's some legal nonsense involved with this one..

Actually back in 10/2010 it probably was used as a marketing gimmic to sell more devices, as Netflix is really designed to run on just about any device with an Internet connection.

He may have been referring to the "after you have paid a subscription" part as being the legal stuff. They'd want to cover their bases so that customers don't think they'd be able to play Netflix content for free just because their device has a Netflix app.

But I think you're correct; it seems Netflix has been a standard app on pretty much any internet-connected media player.

Yeah, except for my Linux box w/o a lot of crappy workarounds...lol...

I had to laugh when I saw that my 7 year old son can now play Netflix
on his Nintendo 3DS, but I still haven't gotten around to getting it
    to work on my computer.

I keep my Wii around for Netflix in our play room. My son has long since graduated to Minecraft on my PC, but I still like Wii sports.

The Wii is getting Myspaced - all of the community content has gone away, because the communities are gone.
