• Kiss on Tour

ALL heard from Curt about Kiss on Tour on 11-30-09

I had a chance to see KISS on 11/27/09. This was about the 12th time I've seen them and it was 30 years ago this month that I got to see them for the first time.

Kiss recently released thier 1st album in 11 years called "Sonic Boom". Although
parts of the album suffer from sameness, on the whole thing is actually pretty good. Unlike thier last album entitled "Psycho Circus", Sonic Boom was recorded
compeltely in analog with all 4 members playing everything on the album.

The show was completely awesome with a few new twists this year. Everytime I go
I wonder if I've seen enough. I wonder if the next show will be the one where I
say that I've seen enough of Kiss. So far every time I've said no. This time I say Hell no!

Years ago Kiss covered Baba O'Riley by The Who. On this tour they have worked much of that song in with "Lick it Up" - a very nice treat during the 1/2 hour 4
    song encore.

With band members starting to turn 60 this year, you'd never know it. The set in
San Diego last Friday was over 2 hours long.

Appearantly Kiss has no plans on slowing down. Just last week they announced a European tour beginning ealy next year and going on into June.

Just like the band Rush still playing at age 55 and Paul McCartney at age 65, I expect most of the pop/rock stars to play til 70s like how Frank Sinatra played til 80 something.
