Where is your ecologist streak? If you bring back Trump, you may let Democrats recycle all their anti-Trump machinery and propaganda instead of forcing them to manufacture new stuff.

This is the green new deal age. Say no to making moar stuff when you can recycle the old stuff. With Trump we could just grab BLM back from the box of used stuff, apply a coat of paint over it, and release it, without having to waste any of Earth'sprecious resources making something new that will end up in the landfill.

I think 2016 was even worse. At least in 2020, you had an incumbent and
could make some judgement based on what he had/hadn't done over the
previous 4 years. In 2016, you had one candidate who no one believed was running or believed would win, and another candidate who was past her prime (but not as much as Joe) and who was so full of herself it was impossible
for me to ever consider her.

I suspect that, in 2016, many folks voted for Trump in hopes of keeping HRC out.

Isn't that how many elections are ran worldwide?

People voting for candidates they dislike because they want to keep the other candidate away, no matter the cost?

IMO I think more people voted for Trump because they liked Trump than voted for, say Pedro S nchez because they liked Pedro S nchez.

True. There were a couple of Democrats who were interesting to me in the
2020 primaries, so I knew they'd not make it far. One guy was from the
East Coast and dropped out early. He seemed more moderate than the others.
Tulsi Gabbard is incredibly level-headed. I don't agree with all of her opinions on things, but I believe she'd make a decent President. She got
more delegates than the eventual VP, too.

Tulsi's mistake was bad-mouthing Hillary, even if what she said was spot on.
I doubt she will get very far as a Democrat if she ever tries again.

I have a sister that met her a couple of times when she was First Lady.
She very much liked her, may still, but she is in the minority for sure.

nobody was more surprised than hillary when she lost. what sucks is she didnt

No joke. The social media meltdowns were awesome.

she also had weird medical problems that she was trying to hide. she had that ad injury where she had to wear prizmatic glasses and she was having strange c
    ghing fits.

i heard one story where she was there telling obama and michelle what she want
them to do and they kind of rebuffed her and she got upset and started coughi
and they had to get the whitehouse doctor to check her out.

The medical thing is interesting. Her reason for leaving the SoS position
was her health (although I am sure it was to get ready for a run for
office!). She also brought up her health (specifically her memory), under oath, when they were asking her questions about her emails, etc. That was
the first time I heard about the "head injury."

If we take her word for it, being a full-time SoS was too much for her, and
she fully admitted to having memory issues. Later, her supporters freaked out when Trump and others brought up her potential health issues but, to me, since she brought them all to light first, I cannot see *not* questioning those issues when she later decides to run for President.

That would not be all the revenue as some of the folks who ate up Trump's goofs would be totally triggered if they wre replaced with Biden's ramblings, but they might pick a few readers/watchers back up.

they just pretend nothing happened when biden does something usually. even th
gh he's running out of press conferences when they ask questions. you'd think ey'd be mad that he's giving them nothing.

Based on their reactions, some of them are upset. I am guessing their
editors force them to downplay their disappointment. You can also tell
that a lot of them (not just conservative ones, either) are often tired of Psaki's non-answers to questions.

bacially there is only one political party. they all grow up together and go t for drinks at the end of the day.

    it's them vs us.

I agree with that, to a point. Some of them on one side really do seem to
have a strong dislike for those on the other, though. But, at the end of
the day, them vs. us is probably most accurate.

nobody who voted for biden says one word about how good he is. i've been watc
    ng. never saw it.

It was all "he isn't Trump!" I think some of the folks who disliked HRC so much they voted for Trump in 2016 went back to Biden in 2020, possibly for similar reasons.

Isn't that how many elections are ran worldwide?

People voting for candidates they dislike because they want to keep the other candidate away, no matter the cost?

Overall, yes, but I think it was really prevalent then. I know a lot of
folks who did that. I usually vote third-party when in that situation, but
she even drove me to Trump.

In 2020, despite Trump rubbing folks the wrong way, I thought he was the
better candidate vs. someone I suspected might be senile. If Trump had
been running against, say, Tulsi Gabbard, the choice might not have been so easy.

In 2020, Trump never had the votes of the hard-core Democrats, but I think
he also lost votes from folks who chose him as the lesser of two evils in
2016. Why they would think Biden was better, I don't know, but I think it
was just because he "wasn't Trump" and they were either tired of listening
to Trump all the time and/or thought Joe would at least not be in the news
    as much.

IMO I think more people voted for Trump because they liked Trump than voted for, say Pedro Snchez because they liked Pedro Snchez.

    That could be.

True. There were a couple of Democrats who were interesting to me in the 2020 primaries, so I knew they'd not make it far. One guy was from the
East Coast and dropped out early. He seemed more moderate than the others.
Tulsi Gabbard is incredibly level-headed. I don't agree with all of her opinions on things, but I believe she'd make a decent President. She got more delegates than the eventual VP, too.

yeah i felt that way too about some candidates. but when i saw them all debate they all looked like a bunch of fools.

Tulsi's mistake was bad-mouthing Hillary, even if what she said was spot on. I doubt she will get very far as a Democrat if she ever tries again.

If we take her word for it, being a full-time SoS was too much for her, and she fully admitted to having memory issues. Later, her supporters freaked out when Trump and others brought up her potential health issues but, to me, since she brought them all to light first, I cannot see *not* questioning those issues when she later decides to run for President.

It's not just about republicans and democrats. I don't think the US really h any strong candidates in the last presidentital election. I can't say I was really enthusiastic about either Trump or Biden.

The last president I really liked was Bill Clinton. Just sayin. I thought Ronald Reagan was even better.

The USA is such a large country a president "of the people" that represents everybody is a tough order to fill. The best interests of people in rural areas is not the same for people in densely populated areas. Even woithout diving into party affiliations, status such as where people live and what resources they have available can be diverse enough to make it hard to please everyone. While that is why we have regional representatives, people would prefer national policy would also weigh in their favor.

No kidding. Politicians have a history of complaining after elections but doing so before one just makes people suspicious.

Funnier still, is now Biden is doing it... calling the next election's results "questionable" ... and everyone around him is like *nooooo* in slow motion.

Babylon Bee has had a couple good videos on the subject iirc.

Yes. People don't take them seriously because they are a satirical site, but some of their satire would not land if there was not some truth to it.

they have a factual and satirical site.

all the leftist politians try to say they didn't cheat but they sure fought hard to keep from checking the ballots in the swing states where all the things were happening like not letting the republican observers in to watch the counting, the videos of trucks showing up after counting was supossed to stop.
Dead people voting, unsigned votes being counted.
But I blame Republicans for not doing anything to make sure the voting would be fair way before the elections.

trump wasnt really a republican; they hated him. he exposed how they are on the take from pharmacutical companies. he was an outsider. dems and republicans grow up together and work together. then they had this loud mouth outsider who is a fucking force of nature doing things nobody has been able to do before.

i think they wanted trump to lose also.

now trumps been picking off his enemies one by one since he lost. he didnt take a vacation. he's been working to get all those people out of office.

I agree, and I didn't mean Trump :) certainly Mitch McConnel is a gutless turd.
Ted Cruz is a fighter and there are a few but the majority of Republicans just roll over.

Hopefully the Dems will lose the house and Senate and get some new blood in there that hasn't been corrupted.

For the life of me I cannot figure out why they have not. It is like
they *want* to add crap to a bill each time, knowing that either the
other side will have to vote "yes" to get the good parts, or knowing
that there is no way the other side will vote for them to begin with.

Yeah, it doesn't make much sense at all. Especially with the likes of
Sinema and Manchin focused solely on their future career prospects. Not
that I'm completely opposed to gridlock... I think it's a point in time
where getting nothing done won't fly and smaller single-issue bills will
be the only way to get anything through in the end.

I'm pretty Libertarian, so not much in favor of most things, but being pragmatic, I don't want to see more divisive escalation, as the gridlock exceeds all expectations and beyond this, the elites and lobbyists are
    still getting what they want.
