What do you think are the implications?

The Democrat Party will cease to exist after this election year.
... You would if you could but you can't so you won't.

Yes, I'm trying really hard here to stay detatched based on my own political stance which doesn't line up with the DNC. It is up to registered party memb to determine if the platform planks that have been introduced line up with their views.

I'm reminded of a quote from that wonderful Lost In Space movie, "They eat their wounded."

The questi that remains is if this shift is sustainable or if the long-term life of the party memebers or if there will be a re-centering effect sometime in the future.

I've been a registered Democrat for some 15 years and consider myself a moderate. After witnessing the impeachment hearings and the Dems outrageous un-american behavior I have left the party and will never return to it.
I was thinking about the effects in the global US politics, but I have checked and it looks like individual senators are not THAT powerful. Still it makes me wonder if filling lists with radicals will cause the Democrats to lose votes. In the case refered in the link I guess it makes no difference since supposedly that senatorial election is pre-decided, but what when that is not the case?
You will have a better read on the impact on the party shift than I would. I can only watch from my side and gape at how brash this "new DNC" is with the platform stances. If we want we can name these but that would be a different thread ;)
The question I would have for you is when it comes time to vote do you still plan to support those candidates that do fit your political compass, are you sitting out or are you voting for the other side?
I always vote my conscious regardless of the party. I cannot support the >Democratic party as long as people like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Polosi are >running the party. I also feel the party has gone so far to the left I can no >longer be a part of it.

AMEN to that. They have lost it and gone off the extreme leftist deep end o the crazy pool. They are no longer the Democrat party of the 70's/80's. Th are now the socialist DemonCrap party. So long as Skeletor Pelosi is in cha they are on a one way trip to extinction.

Not only that they are the most unpatriotic people in this country. You can't have a country without patriotism. In fact there is no country without it.
DNC has gotten over time. Statements like "America was never that great"
Speaking of which, I have been told some relevant black member of the Democratic party has been kicked out because he made a call for peace and order.
Yes, they hate Trump and what he has been able to do. Rather than offering a kind of viable alternative they have simply gone the schooground route of name-calling and story telling. The problem is that their vitriol also sprea to anyone who remotely disagrees with their stance.
It will definitely be interesting to see what happens for turn-out this year
that's what democrats love to say. i hear someone say that and i walk up
to them and give them an earful. america was great before they moved the jobs
verseas , when our educational system wasnt dogshit, when family was important
November being a real mess. I do however believe the issues will benefit Trump and this will call for investigations by the Dems and will call for a recount and perhaps even nullify the entire election. Like you said. It will definetly be interesting.

How's that Chinese curse go again? "May you live in interesting times."
