Covid-19 is real, it's no fairy tale. It can happen to any of us no matter our politics, our ethnicity, age, religion or sexuality. I know we would al like to go back to the era before the emergence of the virus, but we are living in a new era.
Unless we practice good hygiene and safety practices, we will likely see mor of our friends and family ill or even dead. I know people want to sing in their religious buildings, but clusters of people got infected when groups o people sung. Wear the mask, when you shop or go to close quarters shared wit other people. We need to keep our good habits so we can keep people employed and healthy.

You prevent it the same way you prevent yourself from getting the flu each year: basic hygene.

We don't shut down the whole country and allow totalitarian "leaders" to dictate what we must do.
So I agree with you; that @ the beginning, the demonization and pumping up of the virus was... dumb. Really, ignorant: we just didn't KNOW the facts, which we still don't know all of; but they really sold the virus as a KILLER way too much...
That being said, I think the sweeping shutdowns were TOO much... sure, some places needed intervention - like New York; but even there, they built those federal hosptials and brought the ship out - never to be used at all. SMH
I support intelligent shut downs when REALLY NEEDED - only because of hospital capacity issues - I don't think you let folks die because of being over capacity in hospitals - at THAT point, I'd support specific shutdowns to respond.
However, ALLLLL that being said... I just can't respect nor understand why theres TWO camps in America; those who are following the smart guidelines to curb spread, and those who are doing everything in their power to just... I don't even know what 'to just'...

I think we should ALL be doing the common-sense, scientifically supported actions to slow the spread of corona.

Prudence is a lost attribute of modern society ... I ask people to just, please, wear a mask ... the numbers are irrefutable ... but here's a consideration, and, risking TMI, wear it for people like me; immune deficien ... yes 99% of people will not get very ill, or will at least recover ... I don't want to be the 1%'er ... I am at more risk going to Chemo Therepy beca of the exposure to everything, let alone a validated pandemic in where the v majority of people do not exercise prudence, or is that exercise self a bit much. I can stay home, and not get treatments and die ... or go to treatmen risking breathing in selfish air ... and possibly die ... I wear a mask ... while we're at this rant ... you don't need to wear a mask in your car LOL!!

there's a lot more stuff you should be scared of. there's a lot of every day stuff out there that will kill you and kills more people that covid19. this is stuff we ignore tht isnt in the news.
YOU wear a mask. YOU stay home. it's selfish to expect the entire population to change to suit you and your issues.
you HAVE been exposed. if you ever shopped or got an item that was in a store you probably had something with covid19 on it. once the election is over this will go away like a fart in a hurricane.

You know, my rants were mainly based in cares about ME -- I think that its definitely the case for others, who are refusing to do any of the smart scientific suggestions... just want you to know that your message just slapped me in the face. (In a great way..)
It's not about me. Hell; even tho it IS, its not even about [just]YOU. It's about all of the Americans who are in a situation like you... or simaliar to you, in the fact that that are more susseptible to Covid for any myriad of health, age or other reasons...
You WOKE me again, Mortifis... I'm over here mad at people not doing so because of just as selfish reasons as their refusal to doso. Just wanted to state that I, also, respect those who don't think this is a h issue; I respect that we're in America and we are free to live as we want.
I don't understand, however, folks who take your stance on doing the simple things that could protect others. IMO, the truth is either ya'll are right a this thing is no big deal... and it goes away. OR, the scientific minds are right and its going to continue to grow and really be bad; I know one other thing- If America *has* to, they WILL shut us down like we have never been shutdown in our lives...
ie; if it gets so bad that hospitals are over capacity and people are dying hallways and streets, the fed WILL matrial law our land and REALLY take our rights away. It's simple, they will.
