When honest people complete the necessary steps to become residents, they wonder why we sit around and do nothing about illegals who cross the border and do whatever despicable thing they want. Here in NM, we even give driver's licenses to illegals, just to make things easier for them.

Please don't make me go into the rant about trying to get my fiancee over here from Germany when she was originally from Kenya. That's the mother of my son... My own family was ripped apart by immigration and I'm an american citizen, former soldier, etc... Immigration and deportation are only the ways to break more homes. They're hard enough already. Then again if you're all for Trump's wall, I'm probably wasting my time here.

My family has some seperation issues due to immigration policies as well. I'm pretty confident that you're trying to do it the legal way too, which is
    great.

In our situation, it's bad people who have abused the system in the past who have made it impossible for my fiancee to bring her mother over. But I'm not blaming INS for that, it's just the way it is, and we get to live with it.
But we don't have to live with terrorism, we can fight it any way possible.

Veterans are accustomed to dealing with unspeakable violence, and I give you guys credit for that, and thanks so much for handling it, but I don't think civilians here in the USA have any reason to deal with it. Isn't that what
you fought for? To protect us, right?

Not trying to do it any more. It created a wedge that drove us apart over a few years of fighting the system. I mean hindsight being 20-20 it was a good thing, but at the time it was totally destroying my life, and had repercussions that continue today.

I guess we're going to have to agree to disagree here. I _do_ blame INS, and I don't in the slightest think that we need to keep our borders so helplessly locked down in order to keep terrorism from bubbling over here. It's not like we don't have our own home grown terrorists, anyway; though you may not hear them actually called that, unless they've got brown skin.

I don't think that's the motivation as often as you may think it is. Anyway it gave me proof that the government was totally full of shit about the really important events in world affairs, which is what I'd been wondering at the very outset. You don't have to give me credit for 'protecting' anyone. I view it only as having enabled imperialistic invasion and resource monopolization of sovereign countries, and I'm ashamed to have been a part of it.
Of course, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion...

I know exactly what it's like to have my child completely & permanently taken away from me. It's a life sentence of pain. (A Side Note)

Before I thought you were just bitching in support of Democrats, sorry about that! For you to hear someone supporting something that seperates you from loved ones, I bet that was quite irritating. That would be like someone
telling me that they support mother's rights or that "children belong with their mothers." (Nothing could piss me off more that that!)

I will be more careful about what I support.
