I've long made the same assertion. There's nothing like a common enemy to get Congress and the Senate to work together to get things done.
An incompetent president will be the greatest possible force for bipartisanship the USA can possibly get. This is the reason I hope Trump gets elected.

*cackle* That reminds me a little bit of a project some friends of mine had thought up trumping (ahrhrhr) 'Greenland Slide' as a slogan. The basis of the whole endeavor was that if we could all start burning fossil fuels at a prodigious rate we could all hurry up and shut down the n. atlantic current, maybe we could get enough disaster in the scenerio that was incontrivertable to be able to get everyone to work together on cleaning it up.
