President Barack Obama, exercising his veto power[1] for the first time in five years, rejected a measure green-lighting the Keystone XL pipeline.

Wow. I really didn't think that he was going to do it. Maybe that poor sap _isn't_ completely bought and paid for. Either that or the glut in the oil market has made it unimportant enough for now so that he can save a little bit of political face. I know all of the rigs in NoDak are laying off people now... Soooo glad I'm not there any more. There was enough crime when the millions of desperate males that came into the area WERE making money. They imported a hell of a lot more crime than they knew how to deal with, that's for sure. Bismarck there actually made the #1 fastest growing violent crime rate in America (that is according to Huffington, though-- the PD in Bismarck is stridently denying it).
Anyway, at least America isn't going to be trying so hard to replace the petroleum we've pulled out from deep underground by taking tar sands oil and pouring it on the top of the ground for a few more years...
