• Social views on 'racially blind justice' since Ferguson & theories

In order to fully understand this posting (outside of the social media where I first put it), you might want to take a look at this particular graphic http://img.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/files/2014/09/race2.png from
the article which will be hyperlinked at bottom. This image was used to support a lot of arguments supporting (potentially rightly so) anger
against the 'white majority' in this country. Original posting follows:

    NOTE:
This was originally a response to a post with preceding conversation that
I found on tumblr. This didn't just spill out of my head until I noticed a lot of people focusing on how MORE whites thought we had 'racially blind justice' than before. That just doesn't seem accurate to me, though I could just be in an echo chamber of my own construction with viewpoints more similar to my own than the mainstream.

I'm not going to debate the fact that white people suffer a lack of empathy as the racial majority in this country, not in the slightest. However, I would like to point out the following tinfoil hat theory that has occurred to me.

The Washington Post is mainstream media, just as likely to skew results during election primaries, or whatever else with political import, as any other corporate propaganda media outlet.

It has become increasingly clear in years that the US government is preparing for war on its people. The Department of Homeland Security and its militarization of police departments is the obvious result of this. Long before this we were very aware, at least at the level of people able to see beyond polarizing factors such as arbitrary sports teams, religion, and political affiliation, that many of these factors have been used to keep the population as divided as possible, to allow those in the upper echelon to utilize the resources that they squander (many, many orders of magnitude more of, in fact, than we ever see in our lifetimes-- and note, these resources also include power and dominion over our lives, primarily through financial means).

Now I lay before you, is it not possible that these studies are slightly skewed, as well? I've not been in the deep south for a few years, but I've also not stumbled across any white people lately that have, in the slightest bit, thought that Michael Brown deserved what he received. Everyone that I've spoken to has conformed to the opinion that Darren Wilson was a racist sack of shit.

I mean, do you all still trust the media here? I'm pretty sure that the undercurrent of distrust in the popular/mainstream media is thick here, just like it is in other places, as well. We've all seen how well the mainstream media swept Ferguson under the rug, while the protestors were still thick in the streets. Why are you going to trust them now, while they're putting out data that simply polarizes? Demographic trends show that the 'white majority' is quickly losing its ground, that english will no longer be the primary spoken language, and that it will no longer be the most common race in this country. What better a way to keep us from all working together against the true oppressors-- the fucking police and the government that supports their oppression of us.

The solution is not to give up on equality, it's to stop pointing fucking fingers at arbitrary demographic divisions. Get a group together of every color spectrum of person that you know (and why not grab some that you don't know, too?), hold fucking hands, go out in public, and work for a cause together where everyone will see you. Be the change we need.

Whether this study is accurate, or not, or used to incite division, or not, it is simple to understand how it can be used both ways. Don't let it polarize you. Let it help you to spread your arms around everyone, with a goal of increasing understanding in yourself and others.
