The House Veterans Affairs Committee voted today to subpoena Veterans Affairs
Secretary Eric Shinseki in the wake of his department being accused of deadly
delays in health care at some of its hospitals.
The Shinseki subpoena will cover e-mails that allegedly discussed the destruction of a secret list, first reported by CNN, of veterans waiting for care at a Phoenix VA hospital.

I really need to study a little bit more the events surrounding
his termination from the head of the Army and what's happened to him in
the meantime. At the time (while I was in the service), I heard those
in my chain of command talking about him and how he'd gotten the boot
for some reason regarding orders he'd been given, and that he was done
in government service. Doesn't look that way so much any more, does it?
I didn't realize at the time, either, that most of those in the Army
have much less access to 'unbiased' or even independent journalism and information than those trying to wade their way through the propaganda
in our civilian world.
Anyway, he must've sold out pretty well if he's been surfing
these kinds of high-level posts for so many years now. It might merit a
closer look.

on . . . I recommend it because my patience with people that are only
interested in passing judgement and making pointless jabs without
knowing the exact facts about what they're dealing with is waning.
