Anyone have any suggestions on how to extract audio tracks from dvd-audio? Bought depeche mode remasters but they put the bonus tracks as dvd-audio, stupid morons at mute. :P

Anyone have any suggestions on how to extract audio tracks from dvd-audio? Bought depeche mode remasters but they put the bonus tracks as dvd-audio, stupid morons at mute. :P

Don't know if you can put the dvd into the computer and look at the song data as a file or not. I would just plug the rca outs of a dvd player, into the computer input of the soung card and record the songs that you want. If you have good audio software on your computer and a good soundcard then you should be fine.

Or play the dvd on the compter and record the audio with the same recording software.

If any one else has a suggestion or know of some software that would work better, then I would like to know about that as well. -=>***************************************************************<=-

Thats a good ideal. I might have to give this a try and see how it works. I like to get sample and other things to use in my music. This seems like it would be a way to get what I need without any loss.

for a while to pick up some scratches, and then sampled those scratches
for use on their albums.

for a while to pick up some scratches, and then sampled those scratches
for use on their albums.

There are a few or a lot (depends on the kind of music you are into) that have used the vinyl scratches and noises in there music. I allways got a kick out of that. You have this recording on a CD that is digital and super clean sounding, then they go and add the sound of a record on top. I am more of a analog kinda person. But digital when used right can be very sweet sounding.

There are a few or a lot (depends on the kind of music you are into) that ha used the vinyl scratches and noises in there music. I allways got a kick ou of that.

Me too. But I think Portishead actually creating a blank disk, exposing
it to the environment so it can receive 'natural' scratches, and sampling those scratches so as to have 'clean' noise to add to their albums? That
is going to the limit.

there are a few apps that extract audio fron a dvd.
above is one you can look into.
