Well... I'm now playing in a classic/southern rock cover band. We've been practicing about 2 months, and have played 2 gigs so far. All seemed to
go over pretty well. We have our next gig on Friday 27th, in celebration
    of haloween.

Our name is "Hog Leg." I wasn't too sure about the name at first, but it seems it has grown on me. We play a variety of rock from the 70's that includes: Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Allman Brothers, Jethro Tull, The Hollies, Ted Nugent
    and more.

It's certainly a lot of fun. I havn't played with a live band since early 2001, and I didn't realize how much I missed it. Plus, then, I was
playing with a country band (blah!) and playing my favorite music (R&R) is much more gratifying.

Maybe, one of these gigs, I'll get a recording of us and post online.

My band is playing tonight, at a small venue called "Carter's Station."
It's a halloween party, costumes welcome. It should be great fun.

I'm gonna setup a HiFi VHS recorder, and a condenser mic, and get an
ambient capture of the entire show... if any of it comes out good, I'll
    post a sampling.

    Wish us luck!

Much luck, man... I miss my old days playing bass and doing shows... I have never before or never since experienced such a thrill.

Thanks! We had a great time. Saw some amazing costumes. The crowd
really seemed to enjoy the show, and the bar owner said he want's us back again... mentioned something about a thanksgiving timeframe.

Which is perfect, as we'd like to play every couple of weeks, and we're
    booked for Nov 11th already!

Here's a sampling, though it's not a very good recording.

That recording was made with a couple of condenser mics strategically
    placed in the room. :-)

Well... Hog Leg (the band I play in) is playing again Saturday. Our bass player had a birthday yesterday, and my aunt is visiting from IOWA for a
few days, so I decided to throw a party.

As luck would have it, my brother in law called me yesterday to see if I wanted a wild hog. Hmm. How convenient. I absolutely DO want a wild
hog. So he brings me one. It's about 3 feet long, without it's head.

I quickly contact my "Wizard, outdoor, grill, smokemaster chef buddy" and
ask him to cook me a hog. He agrees, even seems kind of excited about the idea. Quickly becomes more excited when he gets a good look at the beast!

My sister is gonna wrap up some potatoes and onions for me to grill. My
wife is gonna cook a big pot of beans. (I guess you could say we'll be serving pork and beans. :-)

It seems we'll be serving wild hog at the Hog Leg concert. :-D

    You are all invited.

That actually sounds great. Say hi to the rest of the lords of flies for me.
I don't think I'll be able to make it :).

All joking aside, does sound like a great time. Hope you have fun!
