I have tried to get this to work, but with no luck...

I can recive net mail, to my BBS, but I can not get it to send out net mail. Am I missing something? I have tried to send it thru my sbcglobal account, thru my ip address.. just does not work?

What's the error message?

I will have to get that for you. I do know, that if I try and set it up, for ip or any other way the relay it all ways trys to connect thru yahoo? But I will get the error message for you.

It appears the DNS server at 192.168.1.1 is returning a *blank* MX record for yahoo.com. Are you sure 192.168.1.1 is a valid DNS server? When you run "ipconfig /all", what is IP listed as your Primary DNS Server?

well I typed the wrong ip, it was 192.168.0.1 .. Still the same error msg about the MX record. I sent you a email @ sysop@vert.synchro.net its a screen shot of my bbs computers ipconfig.

You could try use TCP for DNS record look-ups instead of UDP? There's a checkbox in the mail server configuration dialog.

Other than that, I can only guess that the DNS server at 192.168.0.1 is broken.

I can send mail to my sbcglobal account. It seems other account don't work. Yahoo is the big pain in the butt. Still I don't get whats going on here. Here is the error msg.

the isp can block port 25 on there end correct? so no matter if I use my dns server, or there dns server for email. if they block the port, no mail will go thru. is this correct?

I can send mail to my sbcglobal account. It seems other account don't work. Yahoo is the big pain in the butt. Still I don't get whats going on here. Here is the error msg.

I would suspect the either:

A. Yahoo is blocking your IP address or
B. Your ISP is blocking outbound connections to SMTP port 25

Try telnetting to vert.synchro.net port 25 (yes port 25). If you get the Vertrauen SMTP mail server banner, then the problem is most likely A. If you cannot, then the problem is B, which can be resolved by relaying your mail throuh your ISP's SMTP mail server. SEe http://synchro.net/docs/tcpip_faq.html for more details.

I live in Los Angeles, and I have SBCGlobal for my DSL service.. They DO
block port 25, and to get it unblocked you need to call Customer Service and REQUEST that it be unblocked. Fortunately it wasn't too much of a hassle to get em to do it, and if they give you any shit tell em your gonna have to switch back to cable and that should do it. Thankfully it didnt come to
that, so good luck. Lemme know how it goes.. :)
