Syntrillium sold out to Adobe who has turned Cool Edit Pro into their progra called Adobe Audition and I believe the price has tripled, back in the day y could pick up Cool Edit Pro for $50-$120 depending on sales. I think Adobe Audition is running for $350.
I am wondering if they have added anything new to it? Or if they just took t same old program and repackaged it and jacked up the price to Adobe's concep ofwhat software should be priced.

Hey, all I did was point out a situation in which the vendor profited
from a downloaded copy of a product. I never once said, "Hey all piracy
is great, and the publishers shouldn't give a shit!" Angus said that
to try-before-you-buy was technically a violation of copyright law,
which is absolutely correct. I just think that calling someone a

Ar' an ya best be listenin' to him laddie fer he knows what he's a talkin' about. Parrots are mighty cute excepts when they poop on your shoulder. Shiver me timbers, is it really theivery or is it merely illigitimate duplication, simply making all my ones and zero's lining up just like the ot guys. Well here in America, it depends on the meaning of the word "sex"...ar wait that was Bill Clinton and the word was sex...

Ar but I suppose you are right Angus, parots are mighty cute and so are beautiful women on the beach...but pirates prefer to call it unappreciated duplication for educational purposes only. Possibly we like the duplicated o and zeros so much we want the original, of course only once it has gone on sale, and that makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside when we know we have supported the creator of a fine work of ones and zeros just as to marry that beauty on the beach will arm the cokals of my loins knowin I would have such lovelyness for my own.

Good question.
A friend of mine is rather taken with a local singer. (She's horrible to lo at *and* to listen to, but I said he was a friend, not a *smart* friend.) H goes to see/listen to her every Thursday night. Sometimes he takes friends. One friend snapped the singers photo. The next day, they had a Tee-shirt ma with the photo printed on the front. The following Thursday, my friend goes off to hear this singer, wearing the tee-shirt. When she sees the tee-shirt she chucks an absolute wobbler, almost assaults my buddy, and insists that h image can not be used without her expressed written permission, and accuses of trying to capitalize on her talent, steal her revenue, yada, yada, yada.
This happened for real.
So are you actually free to photograph that beautiful woman? Or are you getting away with it only because she doesn't know or doesn't care, or knows and cares but can't think of any reasonable way to stop you?
If he snapped the phto while peeking through her bathroom window, big troubl but photos taken in public locations, there is no law against it, and if the ever was then cameras would have to be outlawed for taking photos in any pub place.
I'd like to think it were as simple as this, but if so, why do people who intend to use publicly-taken photos and film get people to sign a "release"?

A lot of good stuff out there. As far as your friends T Shirt, he should be as long as he is not trying to sell them. If he made one for himself. I do think there is much the singer can do.
