That's all I can think of off the top of my head. It did
remind me that I needed to get a new mixer. Anyone
out there have a favorite compact mixers they can
recommend? Has anyone tried the new Tapco 6306?
I've heard it's supposed to be quite a good mixer.

I'm setting up a box to do some recording but I'm on a serious budget. So far I
have Cakewalk guitar studio and I'm looking for a reasonable mixer for both the
guitar and mikes. I've seen a Behringer Eurorack MXB1002 for about $99.00 which
looks like it will suit my purposes. I can use my POD for DI on the guitar.

I have worked with Behringer Mixers and they seem to be quite
good for a home studio environment. I asked Behringer once,
which series of mixer would be best for a home studio. They
told me that the MX series are great, but the "UB" series are
supposed to be more quiet. I don't know. There doesn't seem
to be a huge difference in prices. If you haven't purchased the
MXB1002 yet, you might want to take a look at their "UB" mixers.
    Just a bit of information.

I like Mackie, but I'm not sure if they even make a $99 mixer. Probably.

The Tapco 6306 is supposed to be around $119 and is supposed to be
built by Mackie. Here's a couple of sites:

It may not have as many inputs as a Behringer for around the
same price, but it has Mackie stuff in it. I've always liked Mackie
too. That's why I've been considering this mixer.

I remember Tapco used to be good industry standard. They could be dropped out of trucks etc and they would keep on working. A great starter PA would be Tapco mixer, Crown power amp and two Bose speakers. I once caught a fusion band in the late 70's like this and was amazed at the fidelity.
