How many people go thru with the updates Kazaa always wants you to do? I
never seem to do it, I guess I am lazy. Does the updates make a big difference?

I'm surprised that anyone is still using Kazaa after the spyware/malware revelations!

With all the spyware Kaza has attempted to foist onto unsuspecting users
I don't use Kaza. I use Bearshare, and make certain NOT to download
the crap they attempt to put in with it as well (but at least they give
you that option NOT to take it with the Bearshare program).

Bearshare always seems to want me to update as well, and there are fewer
and fewer files I need or want on it, while most people seem to want
to get things from me and not be considerate about it. Had hope when Bearshare added an easier chat mode right into the program. Thought
it would be like the old days and could chat...but every chat room
on Bearshare proved disappointing at best. Go to the music chat
room on Bearshare and try to find someone to discuss music and NO
ONE is discussing music, just some teeny bobbers who think they are
cute with a bunch of smiley's (like we don't know about THOSE smiley's - come on give me a break). Same with just about every other chat room
on Bearshare. To top it off my fire wall now shows people from
BearShare and Gnutella programs in general repeatily trying to break
into my system now. So think I may just erase Bearshare and
stop file sharing all together....it's no longer fun, or a community
of great people as it once was. Sigh.... :(

You can get rid of the spyware files and still run Kazaa. Here is the
web address to help you and fill you in:

It's a good document Angus and it wasn't written by the Kazaa folks.
The article tells you exactly which files to get rid of however since
the writing of this article, Kazaa has put out a newer version of it's
    software.

Windows users can monitor a program's installation files with a program
called "Incntrl" or similiar name. Unsure of spelling. That's probably
the safest bet. Unsure if you could find a similiar Linux file.

... Good printers do it without wrinkling the sheets.

I had a friend at work tell me to pick up KaZaa Lite. Apparently he says it
    is
a hacked version that gives you KaZaa without all the advertising. Figure I might try it. :) <Evil Grin>
