I believe some folks have gotten both of those going under Linux. However, Hotline, the one I tried under Linux, really sucked. That was a year and a half ago, so I hope things have changed since then...

Nah, a couple months ago, I finally broke down and installed wine so I could run WinMX under FreeBSD... no go... I had to track down the original artists (AXE) and get them to rip the song for me (Forever - the version from the first album with Bobby Barth sining, not the newer, inferior one) for our wedding song... I couldn't find my 8-Track, and no record store could trak it down for me.

Bearshare which is a Gnutella program is a good one to use for downloading music. Sometimes I'm on it with my 15 gig collection of music. There
are a few others that use it with huge collections of music on their hard drives (took all my CD"s and vinyl records and put them on it).

add a 2-second pause between each track, that gets 5 hours, 7 minutes and
58 seconds longer.

That, plus the six CD's I ordered yesteday might just push me up to 4
straight weeks.....

Yep, I've been using KaZaa for a while. It is great. there is also Morphious out there, but I really Like KaZaa, be warned it is full of Spyware. :) the Spyware is easily removed using Ad Aware. But when the Spyware is removed
KaZaa won't work, but a simple re-install fixes it again. :) I use it occassionally then disable it. I have another PC on my LAN that has it full time running, my son's PC, he is now 13 and loves it.

I still support my favorite Musicians, I have every Sheryl Crow CD made.
KaZaa is great for finding hard to find stuff. KaZaa allowed me to find some
of her stuff that is not available anyplace else.

Just switch over to winmx... www.winmx.com, multiple streamed downloads from multiple sources, no spyware, and works great...
