• Offline music player for android?

Any suggestions for a good Offline music player for Android?

I used to really like the Android Winamp player, but that's long gone
now, and there are several trying to use the name, along with lots of
online versions (I've imported a lot into google music) but would like something I can throw a few albums into to play when I don't have a good signal (road trips, etc).

I've been using Poweramp for Android for years, and I've been generally happy with it. One thing though, is that it says it supports gapless playback, but I still seem to notice a tiny gap between tracks when playing live albums. It's not a huge issue though; when gapless playback is enabled, the gap I notice is actually much less than what I've seen in other players.

Poweramp isn't free though. I think it was just around $5 when I paid for it though (which was years ago, in 2011), and the upgrade to the full version is still valid after all these years.

VLC is available for Android now too. You might give that a try if you're interested.

i used to use playerpro when i was exercising a lot.
    that was years ago!

that name stealing/cloning is a big issue.

i'm not even sure if the same company owns playerpro.

anyways, i liked how it handled albums and you could swipe it to change the song.

I've been using BlackPlayer EX and like it. I'm a metadata freak, and you
can edit the metadata on a per-song or per-album basis, automatically
    download album covers, and more.

I have personally been using Vanilla Player as I like how fast it scans thousands of songs as well as its modular approach on its features. So you can get the very bare Vanilla player with not much bells and whistles and you're up and running. Oh, and also because it supports ReplayGain. Other than that, a I used to use the Vinyl player as it's quite pleasant to look at and it also supports ReplayGain though it's quite a bit slower compared to Vanilla.
