While I realize that typically the "Advertisements" board is for BBS announcements/ads, I wanted to post a request for hiring an ANSI artist which in most cases constitutes as an advertisement in other realms.

It seemed like the most appropriate place to post. Hopefully, though, it doesnt go overlooked because many people often don't want to scan this board.

I am terrible at art & design, but yet I have a great appreciation for both. In my own software companies I hire people to help, because I feel like it has a huge importance in the development of products. After some thought, it came to me that the same is true here on BBSes.

I want to hire one or more people to make ANSI art and screens for my BBS. Since the BBS scene no longer makes any money the amount I'm willing to pay for this is not necessarily lucrative. At the very least, consider it an opportunity to do something you love to do and get your works out there in a real environment while also getting a few bucks.

If this is something interesting to you, please write me back directly or respond to this posting.

At the very least, I hope this spawns some discussion and activity from the less technical folks who are lurking who still linger in the BBS scene. A sad byproduct these days is that many of us are the "sysops" and with that comes a more technical background (usually). I'd love to see more creative/artistic folks getting to participate in a more visible manner.

This reminds me -- who remembers the ansi art pack crews? Are they still actively releasing stuff?

ansi artists usually have nothing to do with bbses or calling bbses or looking at msg subs on dovenet.

you should check out the facebook groups of blocktronics and the ansi artist cleaner. cleaner in particular is a great guy.
